Finding words in Grid for iPad

When using Grid for iPad, you may want to find a specific word in your grid set, and also show the route to that word. The Find Word tool will let you do that with any grid set.

  1. Browse to the three dots in the top right and select Find Word.

  1. In the search bar, type the word you are looking for and press Enter. For example: banana.

Grid will search your grid set and show you the route to the word from the Home grid. You may get multiple routes, showing you other ways to find the vocabulary in different contexts. If no routes are shown, the word does not exist on a cell in your grid set.

If you tap Show Me, Grid will highlight the cells and model towards finding the word inside your grid set.

You can use the Visible toggle to hide a word, or a specific route to it. For example, you may want to hide “banana” from the flavours topic of Super Core, but still have it available in the fruit topic.

The results screen with one option set to not visible, hiding it in the grid set.

You can also hide all instances of a word by selecting Hide All from the bottom of the window. Reveal All will do the opposite, and restore all hidden words.

Note: If your word appears in a word list, you will be unable to hide it.
