What do the dwell times mean in Look to Read?

Look to Read has settings to control your read speed dwell time. Unlike other Smartbox software titles, Look to Read does not use a numerical system and instead uses text. The time is also dependent on the length of the word you are reading.

The settings loosely follow the timings below:

• Very Fast = 0.5 seconds
• Fast = 1 second
• Medium = 1.5 seconds
• Slow = 2 seconds
• Very Slow = 2.5 seconds

This is then multiplied by how many letters are in the word, ignoring punctuation.
