How do I lock my grid sets so they can not be edited in The Grid 2?

The Grid 2 has been designed to allow easy editing, however, there are some cases when you might want to lock down your grids so that they can’t be changed.

Select your grid set in Grid Explorer and browse to Edit (on the tool bar at the top) – User Settings – General Settings – About Me and tick the option Editing lock.

The About me page with the Editing lock button visibile.

This prevents access to edit mode. Note: it is still possible to make changes to word lists when the editing lock is on, allowing you to make limited changes to the grid content in a controlled way.

You could also consider hiding the toolbar to prevent changes by selecting File – Preferences and unticking the box marked Show menu bar above grids

Tip: you can get the menu bar back after it is hidden, by pressing F12 on a connected keyboard, or if enabled, by pressing the small red squares in the top left and right corners.

The show menu bar option in Preferences.
