Getting set up to use eye gaze in Grid 3

Before you can connect your eye tracker in Grid, you will need to install the correct software and drivers. Most of the software installers will also install the required drivers.
These are detailed below:

  • Alea IntelliGaze software
  • EyeTech QuickAccess 2 software
  • Eyegaze – Eyegaze Edge software
  • Irisbond – Only drivers are required for the Duo and Hiru trackers
  • Lumin-iSmart Eye Tracker software
  • MyGaze EyeMouse Play software
  • SeeTech SeeTech software
  • Smart EyeSmart Eye Tracker software
  • Tobii DynavoxTD Control, Tobii Windows Control, or Tobii Gaze Interaction Settings, depending on the camera being used. Check Tobii Dynavox’s product help pages for details
  • Vida and Vida Go – Alea IntelliGaze software (version 11 or later)

For trackers available through Smartbox, links to the appropriate installers can be found through the product pages on our website. Other installers should be sourced from the tracker manufacturer’s website.

Some eye trackers require you to do some initial setup before it can be used within Grid 3.

  • Alea – you will need to run the Monitor Calibration tool. For an Alea in a Smartbox Grid Pad enclosure choose Integrated camera. Otherwise, you will need to run measure the screen.
  • Irisbond – with the Hiru tracker, you will need to allow Grid access through the firewall using the prompt that appears at first connection.
  • Lumin-i – after connecting in Grid, you will also need to allow the Smart Eye Tracker access through the firewall using the prompt that appears.
  • SeeTech – the SeeTech tracker requires you to run the SeeTech software to do some initial setup, including inputting your camera licence.
  • Smart Eye – after connecting in Grid, you will also need to allow the Smart Eye Tracker access through the firewall using the prompt that appears.
  • Tobii Dynavox – a Tobii tracker using Windows Control requires you to run the Configuration Guide. A tracker using TD Control will do the setup during installation.
  • Vida – you will need to run the Monitor Calibration tool. Choose Integrated camera.
  • Vida Go – you will need to run the Monitor Calibration tool and measure the device screen. For Grid Pad 12 and 15 devices, guide measurements can be found here: https://hub.thinksmartbox.com/knowledgebase/how-do-i-install-the-vida-go-software/
